The winners have been declared around the province, with each of Ontario's 40 district Senior Games competitions wrapping up in May and June. Most winners qualify for the 2010 Ontario Senior Games - Actifest, to take place in Oshawa Aug. 10 to 12.

District 29 Senior Games is holding its summer competitions May 5 to June 17.
District 29 is a large district encompassing the Counties of Huron, Perth and Middlesex. The central committee meets six times each year and sets the events for each year.
This summer, District 29 seniors will be playing in Euchre, Bid Euchre, Pepper, Solo, Cribbage, Darts, Golf, Five and Ten Pin Bowling, Contract and Duplicate Bridge, Bocce, Carpet Bowling, Crokinole, Lawn Bowling, Scrabble, Shuffleboard, Slo-pitch baseball, Swimming, Walking and Triathlon (Swimming, Biking, and Walking).
The season ends with an awards banquet.
The above program of events attracts over 500 individuals in over 1000 events.
Seniors pay $10 for their first event and $2 for each additional event. Additional costs for events like golf and bowling are also covered by the individual participants.

District 15, North York, is holding its Senior Games during April, May and June, offering 18 events specially geared to older adults who turn 55 by Dec. 31, 2010. Most active games have three age groups: 55-plus, 65-plus and 75-plus. Scheduling for June events is as follows, with the event coordinator listed at the end:

The Gold medal winners from these games will be eligible to participate in the Ontario Senior Games Association Actifest, to be held in August in Oshawa.
District 5 includes the Town of Arnprior, Deep River, City of Pembroke, Petawawa and Renfrew plus the municipalities of Admaston/Bromley; Bonnechere Valley; Brudenell, Lyndock and Raglan; Greater Madawaska; Head, Clara and Marie; Horton; Killaloe, Haggerty and Richards; Laurentian Hills; Laurentian Valley; Madawaska Valley; McNab/Braeside; North Algoma Wilberforce; and Whitewater Region.
District 5 will include in its summer games: Bocce, Bid Euchre, Carpet Bowling, Contract Bridge, Cribbage, Darts, Euchre, Five Pin Bowling, Teams/Singles, Floor Shuffleboard, Golf, Horseshoes, Lawn Bowling, Swimming, Tennis and Walking (Prediction plus Nordic).
The demonstration sport will be pickleball.
Registration forms will be available in on-line and in hard copy from either the Municipality offices and senior centres. The website for Renfrew County will be available in the New Year.
