Residents at the first gated, adult-lifestyle community to be built in London, Ont. now have more options for their leisure time.
A new 3,500-square-foot recreation and community centre will open this month in Coventry Walk, off Commissioners Road just east of Highbury Ave. It will feature an indoor pool and whirlpool plus a large outdoor deck across the back, full-service exercise room and lounge with a fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. The centre is slated for its grand opening May 15, with a wine and cheese reception and tours for residents from 5 to 8 p.m., says sales manager Trish O’Meara.
Coventry Walk is part of SummerSide, a community developed by Z Group, prominent London builder for some 40 years. Currently totalling 84 homes, it’s selling the third phase of what will be a four- or five-phase project to include about 130 homes when complete, O’Meara says.
The two-bedroom attached and detached condo bungalows, priced from $162,400, are built in English Georgian style with traditional and open concept floor plans. They include main-floor laundries, covered verandahs, one- or two-car garages and in-ground sprinkler systems.
The community is designed with a neighbourhood ambiance and features meandering walkways, pedestrian conversation areas and a putting green. Surrounded by bean and corn fields, the community also has a rural flavour and is next door to an environmentally sensitive wetland, where nature trails have been constructed for use by the residents.
