Fresh from an appearance on the Rick Mercer Report, two months on the road in the United States and a controversial addition to the list of Juno nominations, country crooner Anne Murray is set to visit her fans across Canada in April and May.
The Canada Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences was red-faced after admitting in February that it had erred in its calculations of album sales, upon which the album of the year nominations were calculated. As a result, Murray, 62, now has a nomination for album of the year for her Duets: Friends and Legends, alongside Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion (two nominations), Feist and Michael Buble. An academy spokesperson has said it would be inappropriate to bump one of the previously announced nominees from the list.
The Junos will be held April 6 in Calgary.
Murray's album debuted at number 8 on the U.S. country charts in January. Murray's 16-city Canadian tour begins April 15 in Moncton, NB and includes dates in Ottawa on April 21, London on April 24, Toronto on April 25 and ending in Vancouver on May 5.
