I write for help in my appeal to find local UK service veterans, men and women, who served in the Forces from 1948 to 1975.
I am the Canadian representative of the Equality for Veterans Association (EFVA), whose web site is efva.co.uk. From April 1975 onwards those regular servicemen and women leaving the armed forces were awarded pro-rata pensions according to length of service, while those who left before that date received nothing unless they had served the full qualifying periods of 16 years for commissioned officers or 22 years for other ranks.
The EFVA was established to continue with the campaign to fight for justice for those veterans who were denied any proper reward for their service. We also assist those veterans with advice regarding problems they may be encountering, particularly in these difficult times.
Veterans can contact me at igrant5@cogeco.ca or phone 905-632-3129 or via the website www.efva.co.uk.
