That first famous catchphrase, associated with the popular character played by actor George Wendt in the old TV hits series Cheers, will no doubt spring to the lips of theatre-goers in Charlottetown this month as Wendt, 61, reprises his Broadway role of Edna Turnblad when Hairspray makes its debut at the Charlottetown Festival.

Hairspray will be playing in the Homburg Theatre at the Confederation Centre of the Arts from Sept. 8 through to October 9.
