According to pain expert, posture specialist and author Esther Gokhale, that’s not a stretch of the imagination, although it is a stretch of the back.

In her Nautilus Gold Award-winning book, 8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back, Gokhale describes her Stretchsitting exercise, which involves lengthening the spine against the back of a chair to decompresses the discs, in hopes of preventing further damage and helping them to heal.
