If you can’t get to New York, local opera lovers have an option. Cineplex Theatres are presenting The Metropolitan Opera: Live in High-Definition, real- time performances from The Met on big screens across the country in high definition and Dolby digital surround sound.
This year’s season of Saturday afternoon performances will get started with Strauss: Salome on Oct. 11, followed by Adams: Doctor Atomic on Nov. 8 and Berlioz: La Damnation de Faust Nov. 22. All start at 1 p.m.
Tickets and information about participating theatres are available on-line
at cineplex.com as well as at participating theatre box offices. Admission for children 3 – 12 is $12.95-$16.95, seniors’ price is $18.95 and general admission is $21.95.
Season tickets may be purchased in person only at any participating theatre. The package price for all 10 performances is $186.58. Guests can also purchase tickets to any five operas for the package price of $98.78, or any three operas for $62.56.
Cineplex and Forever Young have three pairs of tickets to a show of your choice to give away.
Contest closes Oct. 28.
