To maximize your summer fun, Ontario Place is offering exciting new programs to its roster.
In the East Commons area a skatepark, three FIBA sized basketball courts and two half courts, a bocce court, table tennis tables, a big sandbox, giant chess, Imagination Playground and a new lower patio have all been added. All activities and ball rentals are free and available daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
CJ’s Skatepark staff will be onsite at Ontario Place every Saturday from noon to 6 p.m., offering a series of specialized classes including introductory group lessons, girls only lessons, private lessons and free skateboard servicing clinics and mini skills competition.
In addition to the new recreational area, Ontario Place launches an Art in the Park class series led by Art Tonite. The series includes family-friendly afternoon classes on weekends and adult classes on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at the Vista Eatery. Art Tonite will also be offering an art-focused summer camp for kids aged 5- 12 years of age, which will run from July 20 to August 23. In these fun-filled weeks of masterpiece creation, kids can learn valuable skills like how to express themselves through creativity and have the self-confidence to showcase their unique talents.
And for those looking for some indoor fun, the Cinesphere is offering an exciting curated director’s and documentary series, featuring films like “Apollo 11”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “The Great Gatsby” and for the kids weekend matinees screenings of “Super Dogs 3D – The IMAX Edition”.
Visitors can also rent paddleboats and kayaks, sign up for a segway tour, enjoy a free yoga class on Saturday and Sunday mornings in Trillium Park and more.
