Painting out on the town

By Jacquie D. Durand

Have you ever thought about having a Jack & Jill party somewhere out on-the-town? Whether it is to celebrate a baby or wedding, or just a reason to get out with friends for something completely different, why not try a paint party? Providing a great environment for team-building or even first dates (hopefully with no brushoffs, only brushes on canvas). What better way to get to know someone and add some colour to your life?

I was attending a private function with Curaçao Tourism when I was first introduced to this amazing venue. I found the appetizers palatable, the palettes and potables plentiful (Blue Curaçao, naturally, was being provided by our hosts), and the staff highly attentive while they worked along with Curaçao’s top street artist, Garrick Marchena, as he shared many of his tips and tricks.

A paint party is entertaining for both men and women to take part in together, while showing off their artistic side. Paint to your own passions or create a theme for all guests to use as inspiration. The Paint Cabin can accommodate parties of up to 40 people. Absolutely no experience is required as staff is on hand to provide guidance, helping participants to achieve their desired creation. There is a wide range of media to utilize to accomplish your creations – watercolours, acrylics, woodcut printmaking, string art, etc. Or, how about a Glow in the Dark DJ Paint Party?

Open in 2015 and located in the heart of Toronto’s Leslieville, the Paint Cabin provides an on-site bar and coffee house, as well as award-winning catering, a lounge and private party rooms. You can be sure there is something for everyone’s individual needs to bring out those hidden artistic talents. All paint materials and aprons are provided.
