Free, informative and entertaining are three words that aptly describe the Forever Young 50+ Lifestyle and Retirement Show.
The older adult-focused event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Burlington’s Royal Botanical Gardens Visitor Centre. There is plenty of free parking and admission to the show is also free.
Back for the 19th time, the twice-annual show presented by Forever Young Newsmagazine welcomes the first 750 visitors with loot bags packed with information.
The list of exhibitors includes everything from health to housing to finance, to travel and to entertainment.
Exhibitors are eager to speak to the attendees about their business and some will be offering giveaways. Be sure to visit Forever Young’s booth to get a ticket for a chance to win one of the many door prizes that will be given away throughout the day.
There will be two informative 20-minute seminars at scheduled times during the show. The presenters represent Bay Gardens and Bayview Funerals, Cremations, Cemetery and Mausoleum with presentations at noon and 1 p.m. The first seminar will feature licensed funeral director and pre-arrangement specialist Lisa Palmer who will share her knowledge and offer advice regarding the process and its many benefits.
Judi Baldwin, cemetery services director will add to the discussion of pre-planning with an overview of the history of Bayview Cemetery, Crematory and Mausoleum.
The afternoon will feature the sounds of The Toronto All Star Big Band, back by popular demand to perform a one-hour set beginning at 2 p.m. The talented young musicians perform music from the golden age of big bands (1930 to 1950) throughout Ontario and the United States. The band engages in cultural nostalgia with excellent programming and choreography.
