Floral Mannequins blossom in Vaughan

Fleurs de Villes Inc. is bringing its third annual Floral Mannequin Series to Vaughan Mills this April. The unique, five-day exhibition is Fleurs de Villes’ signature event and the first of its kind in Canada, blending fashion design and fresh blooms with bespoke floral-dressed mannequins and a pop-up fresh flower market.

Entering its third year of floral creativity, more than a dozen top local Toronto florists, including Fresh Floral Creations, Coriander Girl and Stôk Floral & Design, will be paired with leading brands to design stunning displays and bring them to life with flowers. Each floral-dressed mannequin is clothed in a one-of-a-kind design made up of hundreds of fresh blooms.

Public viewing of the finished mannequins kicks off with a VIP Preview Launch in a gallery like setting in the heart of Vaughan Mills on Thursday, April 19 and runs until April 23 during regular business hours for the public. Visitors will also have the opportunity to pick up fresh-cut flowers, bouquets and other floral accessories from floral vendors at pop-up markets inspired by European flower markets.

“After crossing the country last year, we saw first hand that flowers make everyone happy— they amaze and they delight,” says Fleurs de Villes co-founder Karen Marshall.

“This show connects the public with a sensory experience they won’t see anywhere else,” adds Marshall. “This spring, we’re excited to continue our celebration of world-class floral talent and welcome new partners, fans and cities to our Fleurs de Villes family.”

The Floral Mannequin Series also adds a level of excitement and added beauty to the participating shopping centres.

“We are thrilled to welcome Fleurs de Villes to Vaughan Mills for the first time this spring and cannot wait for our customers to experience the beauty of this event with us,” says Sarah Francis, Vaughan Mills marketing and tourism director.

“There is an incredible amount of talent and creativity in our Vaughan community and we think this is the perfect opportunity to showcase that.”

You can literally stop and smell the roses during the Floral Mannequin Series this spring at any of the other tour stops: Place Ste-foy in Québec City (April 11–15), Bayshore Shopping Centre in Ottawa (April 18–22), Metropolis at Metrotown in Vancouver (May 2–6), Southgate Centre in Edmonton (May 30–June 3), and CrossIron Mills in Calgary (May 31–June 4).
